Brooklyn NY – A group of artists from various theaters and schools have joined forces to create Bay Ridge Voice, a new vocal studio in the heart of Brooklyn, opening its doors with a concert on Saturday, October 27 at 8:00 p.m. at the Bay Ridge Jewish Center. Three members of the company share compelling stories of success thanks to their association with BRV and founder Mary Elizabeth MiCari:

Kristin O’Blessin
(center) began private voice lessons with Mary and eventually entered her classes. Opportunities opened immediately. She went on to create the role of Helen in the off-Broadway premiere of the drama, The Check is in the Mail and garner a featured role in the film, Slings & Arrows (produced by Genesis Pictures). The film received Manhattan showings before going international.

Sherry Geidd, (left) a longtime student, added Equity contract productions to her resume playing General Cartwright in a recent revival of Guys & Dolls. Garnering great acclaim at previous events of this type, she takes her rightful place as a featured soloist in this concert.

Christine Conway, (right) a veteran of local theater, joined Bay Ridge Voice last year. Today, she sports two off-Broadway productions bearing her name as costume designer and wardrobe specialist and is negotiating with author Joanne de Simone to serve as a voiceover artist for the upcoming animated film, Metro Cats.

Bay Ridge Voice is connected to numerous theater companies – the networking opportunities speak for themselves. Ask us about our next set of classes… including “How to Swim with Sharks: Making it in the Arts”
